How much do futons cost? It depends on a number of factors but on average you can expect to pay anywhere from about $600 for a metal frame double sized futon including a mattress to $1,500 and up for a queen sized high-quality hardwood frame including a mattress.

There are a wide range of futons on the market to suit every budget and every purpose. The futon is so versatile that it can be adapted easily from a sofa to a bed and back again in no time. When considering how much do futons cost, here are some factors that will affect the price you pay.

1. Type and Size of Frame


The two most common types of futon frames are made of either metal or wood. Metal or unfinished pine frames are usually less expensive than typical wood frames so they make a great choice if you are on a budget.

In addition, look for futon covers that are easy to clean. If you want to save on cleaning costs, choose one that is machine washable. If you aren't worried about having to clean it often, then a dry clean only material will work as well.
